Grumpy Old Women Live 2: Chin Up Britain, a brand new show from the creators of the touring theatre phenomenon Grumpy Old Women Live, is set to hit UK venues in 2009. The new show sees SUSIE BLAKE (Coronation Street, The Victoria Wood Show) and WENDI PETERS (Coronation Street, Bad Girls) star alongside original Grump JENNY ECLAIR - co-writer with JUDITH HOLDER (best-selling author of the first Grumpy Old Women book and producer of the hit TV series). This formidably tetchy trio hit the road for seven warm up dates from June 10th to 16th, before embarking on a mammoth 53-date autumn tour from 28th September to 10th December.

Yes, they’ve finished tidying out the airing cupboard and making strange smelling picalilli and now they’re back… grumpier than ever, and who can blame them? Since the Grumpies were last on the road things have gone to rack and ruin… so Chin Up Britain! It’s time to fight back, with ninety minutes of advance grumping: the theatrical equivalent of a good shoulder rub - better value than a Marks and Spencer’s meal deal and more fun than jumping up and down on a trampoline without a bra.

Grumpy Old Women Live 2: Chin up Britain includes a belly full of new grumps and handy hints on getting through these hard times the grumpy way, including: Grumping through the ages; our Grumpometer tests your Grumpy levels; menu masochism and other female syndromes; why the recession is good for our kids; celebrity culling; why women can’t help being mad; and the Grumpy Guide to Safe Grumpy Rumpy Pumpy!

The original stage version of Grumpy Old Women Live completed four sell-out UK tours, a hugely successful month-long West End residency, and a hit run in Australia - which, combined, sold 180,000 tickets. The original show was also written by Perrier Award-winning comedian JENNY ECLAIR and JUDITH HOLDER and was released on DVD in autumn 2008.
