EDINBURGH 2009: 'HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU' AUTHOR MAKES UK STAND-UP DEBUT AT THE EDINBURGH FESTIVAL FRINGE

GREG BEHRENDT - Sex and the City writer and New York Times bestselling co-author of He’s Just Not That Into You - makes his UK debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with Love, Sex, Pudding, Death. A prolific writer, performer and stand-up, GREG’s credits include: consulting on three seasons of Sex and the City - during which a throwaway comment of “he’s just not that into you” to a fellow staffer spawned his unique approach to no-nonsense dating advice; co-authoring the three-million-copy-selling He’s Just Not That Into You which inspired the 2009 US box office number-one film of the same name starring JENNIFER ANNISTON, DREW BARRYMORE and SCARLETT JOHANSSON; co-writing the Wall Street Journal, Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com chart-topping follow-up, It’s Called A Breakup Because It’s Broken; and regularly appearing on the US’ highest profile talkshows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, Larry King Live and The Oprah Winfrey Show - which devoted two entire shows to discussing, with GREG, the He’s Just Not That Into You book.

Hitting Edinburgh straight off the back of his US Greg Behrendt’s Totally Into You Comedy Tour, GREG now brings his trademark straight-talking philosophies, common sense and humour to the UK. Named by Variety as one of the ‘10 Comics to Watch’ and a leading name on the US stand-up circuit, prepare for GREG’s British debut with Love, Sex, Pudding, Death - an unfiltered hour of stand-up in which the award-winning comic sets out to tell his audience everything he’s ever learned about life, in an effort to keep them from messing up theirs. With jokes.

As a stand-up comic, GREG emerged from the much acclaimed US alternative comedy scene of the 1990s with contemporaries such as DAVID CROSS, PATTON OSWALT, JANEANE GAROFALO and ZACH GALIFIANAKIS. Recent projects include: hosting his own nationally syndicated daytime talkshow, The Greg Behrendt Show; presenting Greg Behrendt’s Wake-up Call (SoapNet), a reality programme which aims to save relationships on the brink of break-up; and performing TV stand-up specials, Mantastic (HBO) Uncool (Comedy Central) and That Guy From That Thing, his latest special and DVD (Comedy Central) which broadcasts in the US this autumn.
